UNC recently renovated Boshamer Stadium to make it one of the leading facilities of its kind in the nation. Construction began at the conclusion of the 2007 season and was completed in time for the 2009 season. The new Boshamer Stadium is a home that will make all Tar Heels proud. While construction crews completed the stadium, this project is still in need of funding. As of June 1, 2009, $22.5 million has been committed to the $25.5 million project. The Rams Club still has a financial need in order to make this facility renovation a complete success.
Carolina Baseball has set its goal to consistently compete in the College World Series - as they did in 2006 & 2007 - and to bring home national titles. With your support, Carolina Baseball will be poised to make the next step towards premier status among national programs.
To make this critical step, Carolina Baseball must have a new stadium. Boshamer Stadium is a wondeful home for the Tar Heels - an idyllic setting for a spring afternoon or evening in Chapel Hill. However, in an increasingly competitive atmosphere, Carolina Baseball needs an improved home for its program, its student-athletes, its fans and its future.
The new Boshamer Stadium brings an incredible upgrade to the Carolina Baseball Experience - allowing our student-athletes to compete at the highest level. The improvements from a fan's perspective make Boshamer Stadium a great venue to enjoy Carolina Baseball. The potential impact will set the course for the future success of Carolina Baseball for decades to come.
